Two pipe organ enthusiasts, Alan Buchan and Dr Alan Ireland, both former pupils of the school, kindly agreed to perform on video as the instrument has now been repaired and tuned.
Alan Buchan played Widor’s Toccata and Handel’s Arrival of the Queen of Sheba.
Dr Alan Ireland played Sir Alexander Mackenzie’s Hymnus and John Ireland’s Alla Marcia
This video is the culmination of a several month project to service the Royal High School organ, and record a short concert. We think this is a fitting tribute to those servicemen who died in World War 2, and are remembered by the endowment of the instrument in their memory.
